If you’ve noticed that your water gullies are draining slowly or overflowing, it’s probably because they’re clogged. And if they’re not dealt accordingly, the resulting lack of water drainage could cause damage to your home and garden. We received a work order from a client in Bondi Beach after reports of an overflowing gully.
Once the tradesman arrived it was found that the main sewer line on the right side of the building was blocked. He then set up a high-pressure jetter and attempted to clear it. However the boundary trap was not raised to the surface which made it impossible to be able to clear.
With permission, the tradesman cut a section of concrete and exposed the boundary trap access point. He cleared with a high- pressure Jetter and camera. Lastly, he reconcreted the area and raised a boundary trap.
The boundary trap was found to be tree root infested and badly dislodged. Relining cannot be completed due to condition of pipework. An urgent excavation is required to replace the boundary trap. You should also consider inspecting your gutters to make sure they are clear of any moss, leaves and other natural debris that could make its way down your gully.
