Kensington Overflowing Sewer

WHY WE WERE CALLED
As you can imagine, having tree roots on your drains is one of the biggest plumbing problems one property owner could have. Though to many new homeowners, this may seem like an unlikely scenario, itās a case that we, at Proximity Plumbing, are faced with every now and then. We received a call from a strata block in Kensington to investigate an overflowing sewer. We immediately reported on site and conducted a complimentary site inspection.
WHAT WE DID
We completed up to 60 minutes of drain clearing with the use of a high-pressure jetter and camera. The issue was found to be tree roots and wet wipes in the boundary trap which was causing the sewer to overflow.Ā
RESULTS
The tradesmen were able to clear the sewer line. Remember that even if the packaging on baby wipes says ‘flushable’ that doesn’t mean it’s safe to put down a toilet. Because wipes don’t break down in water, they can damage systems in a home and at wastewater treatment plants.
