Proximity plumbing has been urgently called to 577 New south head rd to inspect a burst pipe. Upon arrival Josh, the senior plumber, has met with the homeowner. They have discussed what has been going on out the front of their property for the past couple of days. There is a large amount of water surcharging out of the water fire hydrant lid which is roughly 1.5 m of the gutter. There is also water bubbling up and pulling in the nature strip area which is then running into the gutter and into the storm water system

The owner has notified Josh that Sydney Water have attended over the past couple of days and have completed by tracing and pipe locating on the footpath, nature strip and within the gutter area. Josh spoke directly to the fault find team and they have confirmed this is the homeowner’s responsibility not Sydney Water’s responsibility. We have done the following works:

  • Excavation Of Hole
  • Replacing Up To 2 M Of Pipework.
  • All Plumbing Fixtures And Material Required To Replace The Section Of Pipe (2m). •Reinstating Excavation Point And Resurfacing With Road Base.

After doing further testing upon completion of works, Josh has fixed the issue. Also we have advised the tenant to at least have a preventive maintenance check every 6 to 12 months that will avoid emergency plumbing issues such as this one.
